TV 2 acquires rights in world-class men’s tennis

The ATP Tour to be shown on TV 2’s channels and on TV 2 PLAY. It is now clear that TV 2 will become the Danish home ground for top-tier tennis.

TV 2 and TV 2 PLAY have acquired the rights in the ATP Tour tournaments where the world’s best male players compete for attractive titles and high prizes. TV 2 has acquired the rights for four years – from 2020 through 2023.

The agreement with ATP and ATP Media covers a total of 38 annual tournaments played all over the world with more than 1,800 hours of tennis. Add to this, the Next Gen ATP Finals tournament for the best players under the age of 21.

This is the first time ever that TV 2 holds the rights in ATP tennis featuring stars like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev. Since 2017, TV 2 has been the holder of the rights in the women’s WTA-tournaments, and since the summer of 2019, TV 2 is the holder of the Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament.

Also Danish male players – in particular Frederik Løchte and the promising tennis talent Holger Rune – may be followed on TV 2’s channels and on TV 2 PLAY when they participate in ATP Tour tournaments.
